Infrastructure Minister Milutin Mrkonjić says Serbia will by the end of 2010 have a highway from the Sava River bridge in Belgrade to the Serbia-Hungary border.
During his tour of the works on the northern branch of Corridor 10 and the bridge over the Danube near Beška, north of Belgrade, which he visited together with the management of the Putevi Srbije (Roads of Serbia) public enterprise, Mrkonjić said that the deadline for building a new bridge at Beška "may be extended by a month or two".
Mrkonjić said that the northern branch of Corridor 10 and the Beška bridge are currently the largest construction sites in Europe.
Bridge building project director Slobodan Mitrović from the Austrian company Alpine said that the bridge is already about 70 percent complete, including the construction of its most difficult part.
