About 130 workers are intensively working every day for the last nine months on the construction of the Sports Center of the Serbian Football Association in Stara Pazova.
Thanks to the funds provided by FIFA, UEFA, the Ministry of Sport and Youth of the Government of Serbia and the Football Association of Serbia, the works on the lot at the exit from Stara Pazova, only one kilometer away from Novi Sad-Belgrade highway, are progressing well - it is stated on the website of the municipality of Stara Pazova.
Slobodan Pejović, the Director of the Sports Center under construction, says that the works are discontinued only when the weather conditions are really bad:
- The works on construction of the Sports Center, which is popularly called the House of Football, are in full swing and they are being carried out in three phases. The first phase is the construction of sports fields, which is close to end. Four fields and one field with artificial grass are being built. Natural grass will be laid within next 15 days and we will soon close the deal for artificial grass as well. Reflectors have already been installed, light system will soon be finished, automatic watering system is in operation and I expect that the first phase will be completed in one month at the latest - says Pejović.
The works from the first phase run parallel to the works from the second phase and Slobodan Pejović points out that the latter are also going according to the plan:
- The second phase includes rough construction works. A business building at 10,500 square meters is being built and it will include a hotel, a restaurant with a kitchen, an office block with offices, a sports block with locker rooms, gym, wellness center and medical block. This complex will also encompass a sports hall of 1,600 cubic meters for volleyball, handball, basketball and mini football matches. This second phase should be finished prior to July 20. Of course, everything depends on weather conditions.
The third and the last phase includes fine works within the building and I believe that the Sports Center may be finished by the end of the year. The works are being carried out in a positive atmosphere and I can say that the focus is on team work, which is also pointed out by the officials from the Football Association of Serbia who often visit the building site.
