Panasonic's new factory

30. June 2010.

Panasonic will "start working" in Svilajnac by mid-October, and it also announced that it will build a new factory there, says Economy Minister Mlađan Dinkić.

He explained that Panasonic would first rent a plant from German company REUM and then build its own new factory in this central Serbian town.

The Economy Ministry has at the same time announced that positions for new engineers will open up in July.

The minister said yesterday as he was visiting that town that he was convinced that other leading global companies in the field of electronics would follow suit, "and recognize Serbia as a favorable destination for their investments".
