Director General of transport and traffic institute CIP, Milutin Ignjatovic said that the institute prepared a general plan for Zezeljev bridge in Novi Sad, whose construction will cost about 60 million EUR.
Commenting on the announcement that the state would at the end of the next week announce tender for construction of the bridge, Ignjatovic said that if after the completion of the tender, the contractor ordered making of the general project from the CIP, it would be completed very quickly - for seven or eight months.
Submission of preliminary design documents for the construction of a new-road / railway bridge in Novi Sad should have been completed much earlier, so they could announce the tender for the construction as quickley as possible, said Ignjatovic.
Head of the European Union Delegation in Serbia, Vincent Deger expressed in the past week his expectation that at the end of the next week would be announced the opening of tenders for the construction of a new bridge in Novi Sad, like former Zezeljevom bridge that was destroyed in NATO bombing in April 1999.
According to the preliminary design of the Company for engineering of the Italian railways "Italfer", the new bridge should be 470 long and 25 meters wide, and, except for traffic and rail trail, there will be pedestrian and biking tracks.
