The total Project includes the sections from Toshin bunar (to the North of the Sava River) to Radnicka intersection (south of the Sava River), including the new Bridge over the Sava River providing an additional crossing point for traffic traveling between Novi Beograd and the central areas of the City. The bridge and the associated roads will form the first phase of the first section of the Inner City Semi-Ring Road.
The new cable stayed bridge, will pass over the tip of Ada Ciganlija island, carry six traffic lanes and a double track light rail line as well as two pedestrian/cycling lanes. The bridge is a 6 span, continuous superstructure with an overall length of 929 metres and deck width of 45.04 m. The main support system is a single pylon asymmetric cable stayed structure. The pylon is 200 metres high.
The Preliminary Design was completed by Ponting Maribor, DDC Ljubljana & CPV Novi Sad in 2006, as a first-awarded concept design proposal on international competition in 2004. The bridge is to be constructed using a Design-Build approach, with the detailed design to be completed by the works contractor “Porr technobau und Umwelt AG”. The contract will be administered under the FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Plant and Design Build, (First Edition, 1999).
The north approach roads
The total length of the north approach roads is 6812 metres with 2460 metres at ground level and 4352 metres elevated. The works are to be contracted on the basis of a re-measurement contract, with the Employer providing the works contractor with a detailed design. Procurement of works will be by international competitive tendering in accordance with the Public Procurement Regulations of the Republic of Serbia. FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Construction, (First Edition, 1999) are going to be the basis for administering this contract.
The south approach roads
The total length of the south approach roads is 9950 metres with 2980 metres at ground level and 6970 metres elevated. Procurement and contracting arrangements will be the same as for the north approach road.
Dependent on the Project development, the Access Roads could be divided in more than two Works Contracts.
