GENEX Business Centre

The international centre "Genex" is located on the left bank of the river Sava and represents a unique blending of the business-apartment complex and with the already existing buildings of the Congress Centre "Sava" and Inter-Continental Hotel.

Information

The complex consists of 4 separate buildings for different purposes: apartment-business, business, recreational-business and power supply facility.

§ APARTMENT & BUSINESS BUILDING consists of 60 apartment units, from flatlets to five-room Flats, with the area ranging from 30 to 370 m2, amounting to 35,000 m2 in total. The technological

concept of the building structure was established in such way that the skeleton assembly system provided parallel production in several places at the same time, thus the works were completed in the shortest possible time, beating all the records. A temporary factory for casting of prefabricated elements was on the site.

The packages of 50-ton frames were Formed on the foundation slab. A special area for adhesive prestressing of slabs in two directions of the capacity 300 m2 flat slabs per day, was built on the site. Four-storey frames were cast on the site in the package and the frame dimension was 5.0 x 16.5 m2, weight 50 tons.

The apartment business building has a cellar, a mezzanine, a technical floor plus six floors. The building is equipped according to the most modern world standards.

§ BUSINESS CENTRE "GENEX" is the administrative-business building with 9 floors, 45 high above the terrain level and with dimensions 45 x 25 m in the base. The facade is of glass with steel and aluminum construction. A staircase and four lifts provide vertical communication within the building. The mechanical and all other technical equipment necessary for maintenance of the building is in the cellar premises under the groundfloor level.

§ The structural system of the building is mixed: skeleton with the stiffening walls, while the staticul system is such that all vertical and horizontal locals are transmitted, via horizontal

plate floors, on the walls and columns in irregular grid. The bearing elements of the structure are of reinforced and prestressed concrete and partially of steel composite girders. The floor slabs were prestressed in two orthogonal directions by cables according to IMS system. They were produced in a "package" on the level 0.00 containing eight pieces, one on top of the other, and were divided vertically along one symmetry axis into two symmetrical packages, so that it was possible to use a heavy assembly "pulling" method.

§ SPORTS & RECREATIONAL CENTRE forms a functional unity with the apartment-business building and consists of two levels.

Squash halls are on the first level, and covered tennis courts with cloakrooms and sport equipment shops on the second level.

The sport centre is air conditioned and the tennis court floors are heated so they can be used throughout the year.

§ POWER PLANT BUILDING with its architecture-composition solution including its free-standing tower Forms an integral harmonious unity within the complex. The building is of reinforced concrete and prefabricated, with linings of alukobond aluminum.

The peculiarity of the applied system of functioning in this building is that the used energy is recuperated with the result that the energy expenses are considerably reduced.
